The rear
wall is just a studio set that I had built for shooting a
lingerie catalog for Saks. A soft box with blue filtration
was placed overhead to give a feeling of some ambient light.
Two soft boxes were placed, one to each side of the camera.
Four by eight foot Foam Core panels were used to attenuate
the light at the outer edges of the picture (in order that
the lighting would not look too flat). Then an optical
spotlight was directed at Elle's hair (yep, that's Elle
McPherson) to simulate a shaft of sunlight illuminating her
hair.
By today's
standards, I'd say the photo looks a bit too posed.
