Very
late afternoon in Tarroudant, Morocco with Kelly Emberg, and
Nancy Decker for Bazaar. No trick here except for a 300 mm.,
f:2.8 lens, and Kodachrome film. The long lens was used both
for the perspective it allowed, and for its shallow depth of
field (wide open).
Surprise: I heard my
name called not once, but twice, by people who knew me in
that gathered crowd, and just happened to be there at the
time. We stayed at a hotel of individual bungalows; the
Gazelle Dor. Steven Spielberg was lunching there (outdoors
at the hotel) with an associate as they scouted locations
for the "Raiders" film, and as I was shooting a mint tea
pouring "ceremony" with the models, just feet away.
