Playboy | Jamaica | February 1986

Sometimes the appropriate solution to a lighting problem requires electronic flash (I'm one who generally prefers the use of reflectors, nets, and silks). For this shot of a couple on a raft in Jamaica (it was a swimsuit fashion feature for Playboy), I took camera, tripod, and Balcar flash, wading with me.

Polaroid film was used to judge the balance of the ambient light relative to the flash fill.

I wonder what would have happened if the Balcar power pack were to have dropped into the water as I was standing there?
